Common questions about CT scan cost
- Why is a CT scan cheaper here than at a hospital?
- As a freestanding outpatient center, we don't add the hospital facility fee that often makes hospital-based CT cost several times more. Our self-pay price is published and all-in.
- Do I need a doctor's order for a CT scan?
- Most diagnostic CT scans require a written physician order. Three screening studies — CT Cardiac Calcium Scoring, CT Full Body, and DEXA Body Fat — can be booked self-pay without one.
- How do I get an exact CT price?
- Request a free Good Faith Estimate and we'll quote your exact study in writing — email billing@cvimaging.net or call (949) 215-3304.
- Is CT safe? How much radiation is involved?
- Our 64-slice scanner uses low-dose protocols to keep radiation as low as reasonably achievable while preserving image quality. Your physician orders CT when its diagnostic benefit outweighs the small dose involved.
