Same-day & STAT imaging — common questions
- Can I get an MRI or CT the same day?
- Often, yes. We hold STAT slots daily for urgent MRI, CT, and Ultrasound. Same-day availability depends on the exam and the day, so call (949) 367-1010 and we'll find you the earliest slot.
- What counts as a STAT or urgent study?
- Time-sensitive clinical questions — suspected DVT, pulmonary embolism, testicular torsion, acute injury — where your physician needs imaging right away. If your doctor marked the order STAT, tell us when you call.
- How soon can routine appointments be scheduled?
- Most routine MRI, CT, and Ultrasound exams are available within 1–3 business days. STAT slots are reserved daily for urgent cases on top of that.
- Do I need a doctor's order?
- Yes for diagnostic MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, and DEXA. A few screening studies (CT Cardiac Calcium, CT Full Body, DEXA Body Fat) can be booked self-pay without an order.
