Guided Contrast Injection
Arthrogram / Myelogram
CT-guided needle placement + MRI scan. Radiologist-performed — scheduled Tue & Thu mornings.
What the exam is
Arthrogram / Myelogram is a guided contrast injection exam used to help your physician diagnose conditions with precision and clarity. At CVI, every exam is performed by an ARRT-registered technologist and read by a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist.
How to prepare
MRI Arthrogram: no fasting — contrast goes directly into the joint, not IV. Two-part visit: CT-guided needle placement (~30 min) + MRI scan (~45 min). CT Myelogram: small sips of water only for 4 hours prior; you MUST have a driver and rest for 24 hours after (no exercise, no heavy lifting).
